no wrx, or speed 3, because I want a automatic. Just for driving around to school, gym, etc, etc. But I also wanted something thats fun to drive, and looks good, so this is the list I've ended up with.

A picture for your time.

I'd have the BRZ. But not sure any one is really "better".

If you're only considering base version then probably:

BRZ

GTI

Mazda 3

Impreza

But I don't see why you're eliminating fast version if you're willing to go up to the price level of a GTI or a BRZ. The Fiesta ST and Focus ST should be on your shopping list as well.

I'd def take the BRZ if outright speed isn't what you're looking for. I'm guessing the GTI will be the fastest.

I've eliminated the fiesta. Hate the looks of it. Considered the focus. I'll add it to the list.

BRZ because that's a great car and RWD. Following that, I'd say Impreza, GTI then the 3, but they all look good.

Why not get a 370z? Base model is priced around the rest of the list.

I'm obviously biased toward the Focus since I bought one yesterday but if you're looking to spend around $25k there isn't really much that can beat it if you're solely looking at new cars. The BRZ is the only one that I think really challenges it from this group but the Focus is much more practical.

The 370 base is where everything on this list tops out with options.

Dealers are selling them cheaper nowadays. 3 days ago at my local nissan dealer a base 370z with a 6MT was listed at $27k.

I'd go with the 3, but you also might want to find a 2013 hatch. There are still a few left on dealer's lots, and they want to get rid of them. You'll get similarly equipped cars for a few grand less.

Ahem. I have never, ever ever mentioned this car on Jalop, so it's truly for practical and none auto-meme reasons. V6 stang w/ track pack comes in below the BRZ in terms of price. So there's that fly in the ointment.

the MK7 GTI. Checked one out today. It's nicer than ever. A steal at the price and the best all-around car on this list.

Also checked out the Mazda 3. It's swoopy and sexy, but it has the longest hood known to man for a FWD car, and I felt interior space was lacking.

Plus TTL that will get almost to 30k. Most of the cars on this list are far below that.

Well I would get the 370Z, but the problem is it's a 2 seater. But I agree that it's a steal, a lot of power, great looks, and great handling.

By better I pretty much meant which would you have. This car is for a Daily driver.

I want to eliminate the fast versions because they only come in manual last I checked. The reason being, it is a daily driver, and living in an urban area, it would be a pain in the butt. Don't get me wrong, I love manuals, but not in traffic. If i'm wrong paint me blue and call me sally.

I need 4 or 5 seats because I will be using this to haul around friends. So that's why the brz is on the list. It looks great, has decent power for an everyday driver. It has a backseat which are a little small, but I don't care if the person is cramped back there 'cause i'm driving. lol. They should be good back there as long as we aren't in the car for more than 30 minutes.

well all around I would think the Impreza would be good. I've driven the 2013-14? one and i think its fine for a regular car. Plus the trunk size can fit a big dog, I sat in the back for 30 minutes feels alright. Then again I'm 5'6". And don't forget AWD is good.

Better? Who knows? I haven't driven the others, but I can personally vouch for the Mazda 3. I test drove (a couple of times) a 2.5 automatic and I give it high marks for fun-to-drive, fit-and-finish and just general high-quality. Apparently they get pretty good mileage too. The motor-tranny combo is spot on, and if aesthetics are a concern, it's by far the best looking of them all.

My only negative comment would be the trunk space. I'm pretty sure it's less than the others' you've listed.

Does it have to be new? If not an E92 328i would be good. Even a 335i can be had within budget.

Brz has the best looks, but has the least trunk space and is the most impractical.

I can take another summer job, and buy a cheap manual to hoon around in if need be. (which probably will happen) But this is just a daily driver, so yeah.

actually I have my eye on this 1995 acura integera for sale at a dealership. let's see if it's still there once I get enough money. It's listed at 2k, But who knows, maybe I can get it for less.

Since you want an autotragic the BRZ is out of question because it is horrible without a manual. I would pick the GTI because the dsg is actually pretty good.

If it's your DD it should definitely be a manual! Don't you want the added fun and control in the car you're driving everyday? There's no reason not to drive stick everyday. There's no reason not to drive stick at all.

Every car on that list has a manual option. I can could understand driving auto because that's all that available. Check that box for manual transmission man. Check the box.....
